Breath Taking View!

Assalam-o-alaykum w.w.!

By the very title, I’ve given to this post I mean it, the view I saw yesterday really made me feel strange, I wanted to gasp for some more oxygen into my lungs. Though, people were going in a count of hundreds and maybe in thousands to Margalla towers, to see for themselves, how 7.6 Richter quake shook the building. However, we thought so many people would be causing hindrance rather than help in the much needed help work there, so we delayed our visit, rather a depressing visit. Now, that I have visited the place many emotions are attached to seeing it

We parked our car at a distance and walked our way to the collapsed part. After the very first sight and till my way back home, Inna Lillah e wa inaa Alayhe rajeyoon were the only words coming out of my mouth without a break. Verily, he knows which time and moment is written for us and how we would be returning to him.

The once highly standing 13 storey building was just 2 storey debris, if compared to the sister block of the towers. And all floors were just compactly collapsed on each other, I feel it was sheer Allah’s special blessings that miraculously so many people were rescued from it alive and ratio of people died was lesser. But now that all missing are assumed dead too, so it’s like equal ratio. By viewing the rubble, you really can’t imagine that there could be any, and I literally mean it, any space in there where people survived for so long. Alhamdolillah, لا الہ الا اللہ رب العرش العظیم , it’s nothing but his blessings.

I was seeing the collapsed block and the block at its back which was fully intact and imagining that when it collapsed what would the people around would have thought was something beyond my imagination. Eye witnesses told that people around as son as it collapsed moved and started digging it to find anyone alive, and they succeeded by bringing out many alive. May Allah gives them lots of jazaa for their deeds.

People who are reunited with their families are really very happy, while ones who got their loved ones died in this incident and they have got their dead bodies must be sad but satisfied that they’ve given their last gratitude. I just don’t want to think that how people getting limbs of their beloveds must be feeling like … and the ones whose loved ones are still under the debris, what would be their feelings, feelings of intense loss.

The place was very much surrounded by international media and most of the works were carried out by the Pakistan army. As we reached by the rubble, a personnel shouted Silence; they were sensing for anyone alive down there. And everyone, there must be some 150-200 people there at that time and in a second it was pin drop silence apart from the sound of water in a nearby drain.

People were all their from the neighboring Al-Mustafa towers looking at the search silently, one soldier passed the place and accidentally he stepped on a drain cover and a sound came. A woman was standing near by she said: O fauji, dekh kay chal! (O soldier, look as you walk) in harsh tone. Just telling to show the fear and hope people had there, fear that our sounds may make obstructions in aid work, and hope that some one would be rescued alive.

Alhamdolillah, rescue work is getting at far away places too, still 20% of area left to be supplied aid, but may Allah give some more moments for all those waiting.

After recent rains, weather here, even, in Islamabad has turned quite cold. In a month or so all affected areas would start receiving snowfall. And people are mostly out in open air, I don’t know hat would happen. I stress for prayers again and again as we don’t know about even the next second, only ALLAH an make things, seemingly impossible, possible.

Another 5.6 magnitude quake hits the affected areas at around 1:50 a.m., it was 394th after shock in these areas. Some people really frightened of these after shocks.

People are continuously emphasizing that army and government is doing nothing at all, I would request all of them to please concentrate on what you could do, how you could help. They are providing the help, no doubt, pray for them too that they manage to get to every place with aid soon. I can listen to helicopters flying all night long and all day long.

In Islamabad, tents and some other stuff is in shortage in the markets, but last day tents were available in the market in G-9. Later, it was known that some ‘relief camp’ workers started selling all the stuff they managed to collect. Likewise, the transportation charges are highly increased, exponentially would be the right word. I don’t know don’t these people have any feelings and emotions, the 10-15 thousand extra charges they are demanding could be beneficial for all those in desperate needs. On the same hand, there are good people too, demanding lesser prices than the usual ones just to give their share of help for the needy.

In Islamabad, a community center in Aabpara is turned into a make-shift hospital to help the increasing number of incoming patients. Chances are in sports complex, another make-shift hospital would be made soon.

People residing in all tent villages, established in PIMS hospital and at other places needs toys for children, as children are in a condition of severe shock thus they are not taking proper food intake and sleep, so a positive environment would surely help them. Moreover, more tents … hoarding skins can also be provided as tents, small stoves. Hospitals are in need of IV Stands, plaster of Paris bandages. There are few children in PIMS, Islamabad without some parent or relative with them, so you can go and provide your love and affection and necessities of life to them to help and cuddle the child. By now, 2000 quake victims are treated in just PIMS hospital of Islamabad.

WHO terms 8/10 earthquake as worse than tsunami, loosing your beloveds to such a disaster is always bigger than any tsunami of this world.

Prayers for all those sitting sans warm clothing, bare feet in the coldness of mountains. Prayers for all those striving to remain alive. Prayers for all those who are burying their own children with their hands. Prayers for all those searching madly for the their loved ones under the debris, in hospitals. Prayers for all those busy rescuing people, and busy aiding the needy. Prayers for all those who have to live now without the prayers and love of their parents and children Prayers for all those whose eyes are dry now but hearts are aching. May Allah grant them all energy to live and energy to live again.

It really aches a lot!

Wassalam and prayers needed immensely!
