And Life Goes On … Does It?
Assalam-o-alaykum w.w!
آنکھ ہے بھری بھری اور تم مسکرانے کی بات کرتے ہو
زندگی ہے خفا خفا اور تم دل لگانے کی بات کرتے ہو
The lines I have written above are from one of my very favorite songs … I don’t know why but they were only lips from the very morning. Any how … life’s like that!
Its 17th day since the quake hit a large area of Pakistan causing much causality and yet many more people were left to stay in open air since their homes were all collapsed. I don’t believe that much time has gone since the tragic incidence … but what I feel around is that the spirit of doing something amongst the nation is getting feeble by the time. I pray that it be my false assumptions.
I just went to quite a big shopping market here in Islamabad at around 10 in night to buy some hair catchers … and markets were full with the shoppers … their were people at clothing shops, at shoe and jewelry stores and even at bangle stalls …! Couldn’t we resist from all this for this Eid at least?
But then two things were in my mind people selling all these things are also needy … that is their business … in case no. of shoppers would descend obviously it won’t be very good for them to, as some stall owners are from the lower income class, who have these stalls as their sole income. I don’t know … whenever I see such a situation I fall in doldrums that who is right an d who is not … it seems both are right in their own way !
As, my cousin was telling that all eating places in Lahore, especially on M.M. Alam Road are full as usual, it’s hard to even cross that road due to heavy traffic … can’t we hold on to our diets …. rather lavish diets for some months or so. We can have aftaaris at our home with simplicity.
I was watching PTV news that in Marriott hotel of Islamabad, a conference on Hadhrat Ali R.A. was held. There were some 150-200 people were sitting there, including one Mr shujaat hussain sahib, and I was wondering that they must have wasted an amount of one lac + on this conference that is totally unwanted at this hour … that amount would have given smiles to many faces, many faces. This is one thing that is to be refrained strictly.
This quake is not a thing of one or two days … rehabilitation, reconstruction of all the damaged cities would take years time and fortune. If we reserve some amount from our monthly income, pay or even from our pocket moneys for this cause till the complete rehabilitation is done, it won’t deprive us of anything, but I believe Allah would bless us in so many ways that we can’t imagine. Every month we buy so many things that are useless… but if all this be saved for a good purpose by every Pakistani it won’t remain useless it would Inshah Allah yield such beautiful results …. Smiles on faces of many who were deprived of all these necessities and luxuries of life after 8/10.
It would be great if on this eid, we make small gifts and give them to many children waiting for their smiles in many cams around us made, and even in hospitals you would find lot many children and elders waiting for their share of love from us.
May Allah gives everyone energy in physical and monetary both ways to help greatly for relief and rehabiliation both, in this calamity, in this hour of great need.
Wassalam

where r ya gal….havent seen u around…anywaz abt ur post…u r rite abt those lower class ppl whoz source of income is sellin those guds…well how else they would provide da necessities of life to their kids…..life goes on….it doesnt stop for anyone….
we should b modest at least on this eid if not always…though we should always remember those who cant afford all da luxurious life….
Life goes on for the rest of the world, but for the victims and the people who are still experiencing the aftershocks, life is still begging.
@Raheel : Yeah yeah i know this much maths … well but ppl who can afford should contribute more …!
@zeni: nothing wrong dear
@optus: ya i agree … if u missed my point that is wat i was saying that even the ppl behind the firvolous markets are people who need to earn something to feed their families … so its like need on both sides…thanks for coming in!

When will we wake up…
Faiz:

… and then I realize, when do I criticize ‘em? Should I ever? Or should I leave it all to Him?
“For you should know where you stand, ’cause when you glance back – you wonder: ‘ah, I messed it all up”
I think it’s not right to accuse someone – maybe they have their own predicaments to solve. We should do our bit, maybe someday they’ll just follow.

I don’t think so. You have to revise your looks. In general your blog is good, but sometimes your posts are creepy.
