Random Shots!
Assalam-o-alaykum w.w!
I thought its quite some time since a random overlook on life, so lets do it now… well life I mean my life is going on same pace … all day bust in office with sometimes really great and interesting jobs and at others some weird ones too … really quite weird ones but don’t ask.
Islamabad metro-blog is going good … few people on board but everyone putting one thing or other to it
Arham had pneumonia but Alhamdolillah he’s doing fine now. Saayi also had fever and severe flu… hoping she will get better soon, Inshah Allah.
Naumoo doing great too, she has started crawling very fast and she loves to stand … Inshah Allah she will start walking in a month or so, she’ll be 10 months old in the end of December, Masha Allah, my janu baby!
These days I’m teaching two children also, one is in 5th class in beacon house while other’s in 1 in convent. And GOD the standard of their education is so “good” that I sometimes wonder if they have matric fail teachers in their school. Really, in 5 th class her teacher was saying PLUUS rate instead of pulse rate and never mind the hundreds of spelling mistakes. The basic stress is n English … English and English … not written but only spoken … as end result in class 5 the child’s Urdu is “Masha Allah”. Further, they feel privileged if they know about all history of USA but alas our dear Pakistan. I asked her about the provinces of Pakistan and she was dumbfounded… !
Then, I don’t know why some parents stress on this English, Maths and science studies but don’t cater for the education that refines the soul of a child. I remember in our summer tarbiyati classes, that I’m talking about the times when I was in miyaar-saum … I mean I was of 5-10 yrs of age. The class was used to be from 9-12 in the morning. We were never permitted to miss even a single class. IT was so much fun too with so many kids and so much of competition, we used to revise all surahs, ahadeeth, life histories and incidents from Hadhrat Muhammad s.a.w.w and his companions lives, nazms, speeches, just so many things. And even till now, my parents are so strict on offering prayers that I’m asked if I’ve offered all prayers in case I’ve missed some, and a check is put right from the childhood, thus making us punctual. So this whole thing began from the children I’m teaching, I today asked about first kalima … they knew it but they didn’t knew its meanings … I asked if you offer your prayers daily … she said sometimes but she had no idea that how many Rak’aat are their in each namaaz. May Allah guide the parents too! I don’t even remember when I started offering prayers, I used to stand with my mother and father and I learnt namaaz … ! So can’t all parents can do the same?
Harry potter and the goblet of fire is something I want to see right away … but I’d be traveling this weekend and it may not be possible for me for another month … same goes for reading the new coin in HP series. Dan brown still waiting for me to come and read his works … my feudal lord is another one I want to read but actually these days I’m usually so dead when I’m at home that apart from few dramas I don’t go for anything else.
My latest passion and wanna buy thingies include Sony Ericsson’s W550i … It looks so cool to me that I just want to go and grab hold of it … it’s of some Rs. 20,600 at the moment so let’s see when I but it … eeh I just can’t resist
Bayaaz is also going good, some new contributors, yet to add ther names to the side bar … but alas when I log-on to internet I just want to do even a minor change to templates, so please wait on …!
And I guess no one visits my Have fun blog … have a look some real funny stuff updated there.
Last but not the least, I’ll be away from this cyber world for half a month may be … why I’ll brief you with the reasons later on … not right away but actually from next Friday Saturday onwards.
Take carez!
Wassalam & Allah Hafiz!

Teaching Your Child about Islam!
Are You raising a Muslim Child?

As you noted about the “Aplombic” quality of education of so-called elite schools like beacon house. I have had the same experience. I was leafing through the copies of 6th class pupil of beacon house and I was amazed to see the cluster of stars and moon on every page. I was also stunned to note that every page contained galaxies of spelling and other mistakes.
The standard of teaching and teachers is declining by the day. It seems every next Tom, Dick and Harry enters the teaching arena and the result is horrifying. Here, the situation isnt too different.
I’ve watched only half of GOF. Will watch the rest tomorrow inshallah!!!
btw i have sent you an email – do reply soon

About Islamic teachings: I think parents should persuade their kids to follow religion in an amicable manner. ‘Strict’ is one word I don’t adhere to; when it comes to religion, one cannot enforce someone to follow it.
It’s the ‘Niyat’ that matters; if you pray without affectionate willingness towards Allah than it’s all tivial.
To know something without knowing its purpose is as folly as being led by a blindman.

Oh ALLAH Almighty plz take care of these two poor souls. Their education is at high risk.

Well, you have to teach ‘em – no doubt. But I think being ’strict’ is not the right approach.
Teach them nicely, and make ‘em understand the significance of their religion. Create a mode that they’ll follow it on their own will.
I know a lot of kids who are ‘messed up’ and when you go to their homes, you see their parents are so religious but are also strict. It’s like those kids carry two identities of themselves. Parents should give ‘em air to breathe, otherwise kids will run outside and mess their life up. I think its parents who should be blamed for all this.
I know this kid who was beatentodeath so that he can memorize Quran. He did, but now he carries a wrong impression towards it. Insane & complete injustice.
Religion is a frail topic; but what I know is that, Islam is a beautiful religion and it should be taught in a beautiful manner.
