Honour of Our beloved Hadhrat Muhammad s.a.w.w!
Assalam o alaykum w.w.!
Lot has been spoken with reference to the publication of extremely depraved and provocative depiction of the Holy Prophet saw in Denmark and a few European countries and the reactionary anger that engulfs the Muslim world.
Question is what is needed from us NOW!
(I’m quoting most of the things from the recent Friday sermon of our caliph, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad a.b.a)
We need a discourse on correct channelling of the sense of honour for the Holy Prophet saw that his followers feel and express.
Reaction to these publications was most natural. However, boycott and sabotage is not the proper and endorsing way to do this.
The West has an apathetic stance towards religion and they have lost all sense of sanctity for it. Some among them are pronouncing the Muslim reaction to the offensive publications a clash between the secular Western democratic ways and Islam. However, there are also decent people among them who know how to communicate the facts; people like journalist Robert Fisk who has written that this is indeed not a matter of freedom of speech; rather for Muslims the Prophet received divine words directly from God and that Muslims live their religion whereas ‘we’ do not and while the Muslims have kept their faith alive ‘we’ have lost ours. In comparison he quoted the angry reaction to a film ‘Last Temptation of Christ’ some years ago and said that how could we expect the Muslims to remain silent at these crude cartoons.
It is unfortunate that the wrong reaction of certain Muslim leaders gives the West the chance to take political advantages; in everyday life too the attitude of some Muslims in benefiting from social security and avoiding taxes etc riles the government. The West is shrewd; it makes the most of such situations. Often they are the oppressor but the wrong reaction of the Muslim ends up making them the intimidators.
Our hearts are hurt the most, however our way of response is different; it is not far-fetched to say that mischief like this will continually be created with the objective to torment the Muslims, get them to reaction and subsequently try and put restrictions on the immigrant Muslim population. In any case, our response to these matters should be in line with of the values of Islam.
We do not believe in boycotts, burning down building and flags. Ahmadis should write articles and letters to the media. Enlarge the circle of their contacts. Most importantly, they should imbue among themselves the beautiful character-traits of the Holy Prophet saw. Our objective cannot be achieved by destructive methods.
Huzur aba advised that our youth should go into journalism as much as possible to facilitate in bringing a change in the attitude of the media. However, if the Western Media does not desist from mischief, then the matter should be left in the hand of our Living God. He has the power to punish them.
Huzuraba said that while imparting knowledge of the noble character of the Holy Prophet saw to the rest of the world, we must ever reform our own ways and put an all out effort to demonstrate true Islamic values in our actions. There should be uniformity in what we say and what we do. Instead of burning down buildings and flags, we should ignite a fire in our hearts, ‘the fire of love for our Prophet’saw taking the ardor of this passion to its limit, by invoking blessings and salutations on the Prophetsaw.
Huzuraba said Allah and His angels invoke blessings in the Prophet saw and he is certainly not in need of our blessings, however it is we ourselves who receive blessings by invoking blessings on him.
In conclusion Huzuraba said the enemy of Islam shall never succeed and in the long run, Islam shall be triumphant and that this is destined!
Huzuraba prayed that may Allah make us the recipient of all the blessings of Allah and may we remain engaged in fervent prayers invoking blessings on the Prophetsaw.
And I, on my part, ask other Muslims to join in with us towards portraying the true and beauriful character and Uswah of our beloved Hadhrat Muhammad s.a.w.w. . Allah sent the Holy Prophet saw as ‘Rahmatul Lil-A’lameen’ (mercy for all mankind) We should demonstrate his benevolence and love and mercy for others and for this, Muslims have to bring a change in their attitudes.
It’s you and me that makes US and we’ve to follow the right path … path taught to us by Allah through his Divine Holy Quran and our beloved prophet hadhart Muhammad S.a.w.w……. not the one we are forced to do by mullah (with regards to today’s cruel acts by the peaceful marches in Lahore and Islamabad … that caused many innocents to loose their means of transportation and businesses … lacs of our wealth was ruined by the fidayaan and ushaqaan e rasool … I reall feel sorry for them … how can they get the courage to say themselves aashiq e rasoool s.a.w.w by displaying such brutal charachter … our hadhrat Muhammad s.a.w.w was such a beautiful person that even if any person would act harshly with him even then smile wont left his lips and he always tried to show great character every time …! ).
And in the end a word by my Brother on:
CARTOONS – FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION
I have seen most of the controversial “Hadhrat Prophet Muahmmad (PBUH)” related cartoons re-published in some of the blog sites on the internet. Most of the so called European champions of “freedom of expression” are carried away by their passionate defense of journalistic liberties.
If you look closely to some of these depictions, you may comprehend the underlying Muslim-bias in these drawings without any difficulty. Although most of the other drawings were made to get only the attention of the concerned audience.
One can find out without the least of difficulty the hidden unfairness of European press when looking at these cartoons. For example a cartoon shows a Moustached person (an Iraqi) with Quran, reading chapters about Jihad, Fatwa, Suicide bombings and revenge while a US soldier passes by him asking mockingly, if there is anything about gratitude. Keep in mind the person drawn was not a bearded militant. This clearly shows that Islamic extremists are not targeted but Islam as a religion is attacked where ordinary Iraqi Muslims are mocked for having Islam as their religion.
Then there is another cartoon showing a turbaned person with Kalima-e-Tayyaba written on his turban which is a bomb as well. Now all the learned European editors of the newspapers can know very easily that Kalima-e-Tayyaba is the symbol of Islam as a religion across all Muslim cultures and sects rather than of few Islamic extremists.
Another cartoon shows the “depicted Prophet Muhammad” (PBUH) driving a truck with a nuclear missile. The learned, liberty loving, editors must know that putting up a point especially a negative one, by showing Prophet Muhammad, is a contempt to all Muslims. The Editors ignoring such prejudiced message, passed on by cartoonists, is impossible without a deep bias.
Now these same champions of freedom are annoyed by the worldwide Muslim protests. The same freedom of thoughts are hushed up when German past is under discussion or Nazi ideas are vaguely quoted by some Austrian politicians. The German public was spared for the crimes committed by the Nazis in second world war, however it is an historic fact that 95% or even more Germans supported their Nazi government at that time. The free press of Europe and USA decided to spare the public and talk about prosecuting the Nazi leaders only. Press kept quite ever since without invoking its free thought process. Now passions run deep when contemptuous cartoons are published to save the liberties granted under European laws. I don’t condone such violent protest attacks but at least I consider these Editors as initiators to such violence.

Wassalam

Very well said, Asma. We CANNOT pursue violent channels to have our voice heard. By doing so, we will be reinforcing the exact opinion that the people in the west have of us. Ah I wish people were a little more tolerant and educated.
Well said Asma.
My own most recent comment was:

And an earlier reaction–not as eloquent and well-argued as yours–was:
http://ifaqeer.blogspot.com/2006/02/muslim-anger-about-those-cartoons.html
more worst have happened and been happening, these cartoons are nothing infront of them,i myself have seen more worst pictures of islam related people,i have seen myself fake quran by americans.this cartoon riot is nothing but politics. Many of protestors woudnt even have idea about real issue.
yaar thanks so much for sharing this with us……
i am emailing this post to Neha she needs it for her law class……
!!!
Good post, mogambo khush hua!
Protestants have something else in mind while protesting, government policies? sugar prices? petrol prices? ….well who knows,
These Mulla’s can just create chaos, they cannot unite us. To unite us Scholors are needed here who not only READ the Quran but also understand it.
As Allah (SWT) has said: Wa’ Rafa’na Laka Zikrak… so these cartoons not gonna insult our prophet, instead they might help the MUSLIM Crowd around the world to become One Nation,
cuz Allama Iqbal Clearly said:
Bay-ghairaton ko akal aati hai Karbla kay baad.
There is no doubt that west is opening its anti islamic views. Regardless of where you live, what you do, if you are a muslim, they see all of us with same eye as they see so called ‘terrorists’. I have been involved on different forums where the only topic they discuss is anti-islam. We muslims have to wakeup now, we are backward in terms of science and technology, our economies are fragile and most of islamic countries are still under develop or non developed. These cartoons are clear indication of what is going to happen in next 10-20 years. Its time to wakeup and start preparing our self in terms of education, science and technology.
