Movies These days!
Assalam o alaykum w.w!
Lot many movies were getting a hold on my list, “The Da Vinci code” was on top of them. Firstly, after quite a survey of DVD’s in Islamabad, I finally got my hands on the movie from a small CD shop in melody … (though later I saw it in the racks of a shop in F-10 too) … anyhow I sat very anxiously with a complete movie environment being made, of course with a cup of tea … and no pop corns, inserted the DVD … after some 10 minutes, I was feeling extremely bored. Completed the first 35 minutes in a hurry, with bit forwarding, finally I switched back to cable and started seeing “Looney Tunes Baby”. So, you see how boring it was … still not completed the full movie. The novel was extremely catchy, non-stop attraction … and movie … well it was quite disappointing. It was like something is missing … the scenes were cut off … like in novel they used to give 3-4 tries for finding the next clue but in movie in first try … taraaaaah :d
Second movie that I saw was “Krrish” … well it was good … liked it for one-time seeing … apart from very dancy moves of Hrithik … rest was fine. So, I gave it an OK … by the way, it’s a good mixture of Flash man (remember NTM days), bat Man, Spider man, Super Man and any other super human who ever existed in the movies plus touch of matrix here and there, so you see what a Herculean task was Krrish.
And third movie, for tonight, is “Corporate”. I must say, it’s a movie worth watching, well-made with no non-sense material … well, yes I like that sikandar o sikandar song
so it’s a recommended piece by me.
At the moment, I’m watching “Tum Bin”, it’s my all-tie favorite and I never really get bored to see it.
Waiting for “Bewitched” and “Kabhi Alvida na Kahna” …!
So its bu-bye time from my side … coming soon … I guess I’m really blogging a lot less … and guess what it has given me really some ideas … so Allah Hafiz and Adieu till then!
Wassalam
p.s: listening to “Tum Bin Jiya jaye kaisay … kaisay jiyya jaye tum bin … sadiyon say lambi hayraatein .. sadiyon say lambay huay din … aaajao laut kar tum … yah dil kah raha hay” my ever-fav song .. beautiful music with superb lyrics to go with.

Thanks for dropping by Asma.
One good thing our Govts have done by their blocking acts is that, they have introduced us to many good Indian and Pakistani blogs which otherwise we may not have come across..

All right!
Well, I was waiting so eagerly for “The Da Vinci Code” movie, ever since it was announced to be in production. When the release date finally hit, I already knew people were not liking the movie. But still, I waited for the master print to hit Pakistan’s market so I can watch it. Guess what… it never hit. The movie got banned. What to do now…? Either watch the messy print (yuck!), or don’t watch the movie at all (most people don’t like it already, so I won’t miss much). I guess watching the nicer print might have been a good experience though.
Anyway, let’s hope master print of “Pirates of Carribean 2″ arrives soon.
hmmmm if you can take a little more sarcasm, which I hope you can, it’s ironical that we all at our teen age and early twenties scream our heads about Being Yourself, and Following Our Own Choices etcetra etcetra etcetra and 90% of all things adopted by these late Teens and Early Twenty Somethings (from clothes to music to movies and even places they visit) adopt are from pop-culture around them which signify how little do they have THEIR OWN CHOICE
If you come to think of it, it’s pretty ironical though may be harmless behavior. May be.
So, while, it was more of a general comment I hope you’d remember it as you choose between already popular content around you. But for now, rock on with your yucky indian movies, the titles of which can only make a sensible person vomit and sick to their stomach etc etc heheheh.
First thing, your blog looks lovely. Amazing job with it. Secondly, as far as the movie, “Da Vinci code” is concerned, I watched it a couple of months ago and I was disappointed despite the fact that I hadn’t read the book. Someone told me the book was much better, even so, it wasn’t as good as Dan Brown’s first book, “Angels and Demons”. I have the audio book, but I just haven’t had the time or the patience to sit down and listen to it. Going back to the movie, what I disliked was the emphasize that was given to the story of the last descendent of Jesus Christ, rather than the hidden message behind Leonardo’s paintings. I understand that the conspiracy by itself could only be covered by a documentary, but somehow I didn’t find the movie as intruiging as I had expected, and they did stretch it a tad bit too long for the liking.

I don’t think there is any conspiracy at all about the last descendents of Jesus Christ, is there? I guess it’s something Dan Brown came up with to build his novel around.
Anyone got the facts…?
Well, as a Muslims, to the best of my knowledge, I’m entitled to believe that Jesus remained unmarried until he was taken back in to the heavens by God at the time of his supposed crucifixion. Therefore, I do unequivocally reject the notion of divine descendency and Jesus’ marital life.
Here’s another thought provoking question. If there is a group of people who are trying to protect the Holy Grail, and there is a group trying to destroy it, both being Christians, do they still believe that Jesus was God, even after knowing about Jesus’ secret marital life? Also, if he was married and he has a descendent in the contemporary era, he/she must be the great great great great and so on, son/daugther of the Christ, correct?
Technically, since Jesus was the son of God in flesh and at the same time, then according to that logic, his descendents must also be God in the form of flesh, right? Does that mean God is living amongst us at this time, and perhaps has been living all these centuries? If so, what is his/her purpose, since Jesus has already died for the salvation of humanity. Assuming God still resides amongst us, why does he/she need to do so? His/her mission was accomplished when He, in the form of Jesus was crucified. Does that mean that Jesus’ crucifixion for humanity’s salvation was a lie?
It’s not that important as to wether the conspiracy that the groups mentioned in the novel have, is true or false. Of course it is false. We as Muslims have the ultimate word of God in the form of Quran with us describing everything clear and loud to us.
My question was, does there really exist any such secret society amongst us which believe that Jesus Christ was married and had decendents?
Some of the societies mentioned in the book existed at one time or the other in history. For example, “The Knights Templar”. It was a Christian military order which came into existence during the First Crusade – 1096. Most of the modern banking methods are considered to be originally introduced by them. Similary, the Opus Dei exists.
But about the Priory of Sion, here is what wikipedia has to say…
It means, Dan Brown merely exaggerated. There isn’t any such real secret society which believes in the bloodline of Jesus Christ. There is no proof whatsoever that Priory of Sion ever existed in history.
BTW, Dan Brown’s upcoming book is about Freemasons. Something about which we are sure that exists. The society of Freemasons is no more a secret society, but rather, a society with secrets.
Hmmm…. watch rang de basanti …. flashes my university memories on my mind:)
BTW, the song tum bin is amazing! try listening to teri qasam hum ko teri yadein ….
Dear Friends,
Warm greetings from an Indian in Calcutta. I am delighted to have discovered this blog from Pakistan, and I look forward to browsing through and savouring the archive contents. For a feel of a thinking Indian’s sensibility – I would like to invite you to visit my blog at cuckooscall.blogspot.com Best regards, rama
P.S.: I wrote an article on the Pakistani singer Reshma, which was carried on chowk.com in 1999.
http://www.chowk.com/show_article.cgi?aid=00000609&channel=leafyglade%20inn
That article was reproduced on several other websites, such as
pakistanimusic.com, as well as PTV’s website (which I thought was rich, notwithstanding the fact that there was no acknowledgement, which I didn’t mind at all, since I like anonymity). I was kicked by the fact that encomium of a
Pakistani singer carried on a Pakistani govt agency’s website was by an anonymous Indian!
Hullo! Thanks for visiting my blog. I’m het up from this morning after reading about a Hindu-only zone going to be enforced around the temple town of Tirupati in south India. As an Indian, as a Hindu, and as someone from a family whose name bears the name of the Tirupati deity, I am shocked and shamed at this. I have written to our President, Dr Kalam, the custodian of our constitution, to act to safeguard cour precious secular heritage. Best, rama
