La Voyage
Asslam o alaykum w.w
It’s being said for any traveling that companions matter a lot and it’s quite true too. Just came back from short trip to Lahore … and waah … what an interesting companion I had … as abu had some urgent work there and I had office here so بادلِ نخواستہ I had to come back by Bus. Thanks god the seat was almost in front with a better view of hmmmm … movie … and the road … still the emphasis is on earlier part though the film was nothing but torture.
More torture was the girl sitting next to me … in 4.5 hours journey I seriously became jealous of her coz my mobile rang in last few minutes of journey and that tooo for only once and she literally attended 50+ calls …… can you imagine دھوم مچا دے دھوم مچا دے ringing on top of its volume almost near your ear 50+ times …. Uffffffffffffffff… I personally hate Indian movie songs ring tones … especially when your ringer is set to highest peak …. And this was not it … masha Allah the girl had pathakay daar voice … toooo …. witha purest punjabi … and she was fighting with some 2-3 persons and I could even hear them *no devilish Grins to show*
I started off with Harvest in my hands … since the novel demands a mesmerizing tempo … I made complete mood for it … read one page very interesting second more interesting third page fifth line and I got thrashed by a loud ….
So I opened my had bag closed the novel placed it firmly there and started watching the hellish movie … and didn’t intended to but the girl with pathalay daar voice didn’t left me with any choice … and she literally told almost the whole story of her previous day fight at he home in purest of the Punjabi I’ve heard … and it was very interesting … so I’m back to ma place with a more developed Punjabi vocabulary … !
More on trip laterz … already missing ma jaan ki pattotttiii …!
(and this post marks my 250th post)

I pinched the following points, regarding mobile etiquette, off the world wide web:
Don’ts
1. Never take a personal mobile call during a business meeting. This includes interviews and meetings with co-workers or subordinates.
2. Maintain at least a 10-foot zone from anyone while talking.
3. Never talk in elevators, libraries, museums, restaurants, cemeteries, theaters, dentist or doctor waiting rooms, places of worship, auditoriums or other enclosed public spaces, such as hospital emergency rooms or buses. And don’t have any emotional conversations in public — ever.
4. Don’t use loud and annoying ring tones that destroy concentration and eardrums. Grow up!
5. Never “multi-task” by making calls while shopping, banking, waiting in line or conducting other personal business.
Dos
1. Keep all cellular congress brief and to the point.
2. Use an earpiece in high-traffic or noisy locations. That lets you hear the amplification, or how loud you sound at the other end, so you can modulate your voice.
3. Tell callers when you’re talking on a mobile, so they can anticipate distractions or disconnections.
4. Demand “quiet zones” and “phone-free areas” at work and in public venues.
5. Inform everyone in your mobile address book that you’ve just adopted the new rules for mobile manners. Ask them to do likewise. Please!
Not that I follow all of these myself e.g. it so happens sometimes that following the 10-foot rule would actually mean jumping off a balcony (where I retreat to take a call and someone else comes along for precisely that reason i.e. to attend to a call on a mobile phone!)!
But, keeping a few print outs of this in your hand bag, the next time you are off on a voyage again, might actually prove useful.
vow very nice site.. keep it up
best regards
