Mission: Shop for Moi
Posted by mE on Oct 18, 2006Asslam o alaykum w.w…!
Oh this Sunday I had fun of my life … well not exactly of life … but still it was worth … so finally me, uz and asma gathered up after quite some time … I basically called for an urgent get together and that too before Iftaar (they both had Iftar parties to attend) … the problem was just few days back abu asked me that you’ve bought your Eid stuff or not and I was like shoot I really forgot … (its where ON Saturdays SuCkS!) … plus I hate shopping … Ok no need to be doubtful on me being a girl … well I love windows shopping or buying for others or you can drop me off endlessly in a Gift shop as Illusions or in a book shop as Saeed Book Bank (both are Islooitte stores) or even I can endlessly do window shopping or stuff as far as jewelry is concerned … real diams and gold one … BUT its the selection of dresses … shoes …. That’s a BIG problem for me … I can’t make right choice … I get doubtful what to buy and what not to … it always was like either ami would buy things for me or my sis … and NO I’m no innocent I would go and would constantly say … hmmm Naaah I don’t like it … and even would make faces when something would be bought.. But when I’ll wear it it’d be a big Parfait coming out …. So now I really needed a close hand by my side to maneuver me … hehehe ….!
So I pleaded my case in front of my loveliest friends … and one of them largely irritated of my fondness towards shades of brown … it adds up copper and all those yum yum kind of things and accessories you usually find in brown … so she was like OK asma we are in-charge now you shut up … and follow us … I was like hmmm aye aye captain … so in the short 3 hours we had, we wandered in some 9-10 boutiques … tried all hellish things as well … my friend even tried that 10-15K silver saari … God it was gorgeous … we were on top of our nuttiness actually we even took pics … can you imagine …? Ok it was something orange and off-white colored dress that I ought at then end. Not to mention, uz darling those brown dresses … they were way too formal … but GOD they were so nice naa.
Then came the Bag I wanted … and guess what it was the notorious Brown coloured bag I ended up buying … but its so beautiful … even both my buddies were like great its brown but OK buy it…!
Then came the shoes things … even though we were running out of time … I needed shoes with at least 3-4 inch heels … actually I’m not a heel lover and I end up buying chappals or similar flat stuff … but my sis pumped me up to go for a real delightful heel this time and that she’s really fed up of flatties I wear, so I was like Ok lets see … FATE was not with me … the ones I liked had no size available to suit me … the ones my friends liked were not very comfortable while walking … so good heels are still en-liste … looking forward to buy them from Lahore … ![]()
Ok … don’t you get the message that gosh does she want to buy all available accessories with dress for Eid … like I was telling my friend (while pleading my case) that if no one asks me or try to grab my attention on the point … I can live with one chappal … 3-5 suits easily for a season … But thankfully I’ve enough people around me to drive me towards being modestly stylish … love ya my sweetest ever buddies … looking forward to yet another get-together … well actually I forgot to take the Mehndi with me … uz is a mehndi expert … it was the first thing I bought in this Ramadhan … oh how much I love mehndi filled hands ![]()
And not to forget keep me remembered in your prayers as it’s last ashra and Ramadhan will end very soon … may it be fruitful for all of us … and best wishes to Unaiza for the tasks to help and provide shelters to EQ affectees she has taken this Ramadhan …!
Ciao!

Now that’s why my brother and I try our best to wiggle out, whenever our Ma wants to go shopping and let our father take her to the market…
We hardly take more than 5-10 minutes to select a shirt or turban or a pair of trousers or shoes for ourselves.
