Irony of Our Govt. !
Assalam o alaykum!
I was just watching the return of those two very jubilant Italian Women, who were freed by the Iraqi Capturers. The airport was filled with people gone there share the mutual joys of the nation. There were reporters from newspapers and electronic media, encircling the two women.
And then the scenes of return of one Pakistani, Amjad, came to my mind. He was kidnapped in late June, as I can remember and was freed not because of struggles made by our very beloved Govt. of Pakistan, but due to the pleadings and appeals of his crying mother and sisters. He was their only hope. When he returned, no Pakistani official was there to greet them. The overall reaction was like ok…he came back … good!! If he wouldn’t have made it, if he would have executed, all of us would have forgotten him in few days time. As, we’ve forgotten the two Kashmiris killed just like that by their Iraqi kidnappers. Our government issued not a single statement saying that they won’t be sending their troops to Iraq, and those two innocents were killed.
We’ve forgotten this but how could we ever know how their families are struggling now for their lives. Needs took those two , in search of money, food for their families back home, to place as Iraq. PTV, Pakistan’s state channel, was not given permission to enter their towns when the news of their execution came home.
May Allah bless their souls and may our nation try to learn how to give respect and how to get respect. May Allah be with us always!
Wassalam n Allahahafiz
