Innocence …

My sis was narrating the other day about hr 3 year old … she didnt wake him up for Aftaar. He was so angry when he woke up saying where is my rauza??

Cutie pie thought that aftaar delights are the rauza … but I guess its a beginning towards the concept of rauza … !!

I still remember my first full rauza and not the chirri ones … That was one long rauza … 3 to 5 pm period wasteh most difficult … heehehe itna maaza aata tha dopahar kay waqt may rauza aftaar kar kay khush hojati thi and then I used to declare proudly everywhere kay aaj may nay Dau rauzay rakhay :D

Do you have any memories of your childhood rauzas (provided the childhood’s ended ;-) )

TC (of others around you – they are in dire need of caring if you are around)

Here, in India, there are no different opening or closing times for any institution or organisation, during the month of Ramzan.

So, I admire my friends who go through their day, during the holy month, like any other day of the year.

By the way, I doubt if my childhood will come to an end, completely, at any point of time. It has not, at least, for the past 32 years! :P

I am glad to know that the term ‘Chirri Roza’ is universally known and understood by Muslims! :P

MuddasirSeptember 30th, 2007 at 5:53 am

Well to be honest, my childhood rozas for the most part were self-broken; thanks to the tap water from the sink in the washroom ( Word of Warning: Shareef, Izzatdar, Nafasat Pasand Log may find this gross, except for Hippies & Tramps :) )

So you see Asma Baji after Allah Mian we don’t conceal anything from you, atleast me.

And as for the childhood thing, if Sidhusaaheb can remain a child for 32 yrs then I am not even born yet; mera to abhi sirf fax aya hai :P

but Alhamdulillah, i haven’t left any roza from my 8th grade. I remmember my roza’s back in 6th/7th grade but not fully 29/30.

I only remember that at that young age I was very fond of sehri and if I was not woken up , I wouldn eat anything till late morning in protest. :-P
In boyhood, it was HOT summers and looong days but were out just after sehri to play cricket :-D
I hope I won’t be in scandanavia when Ramadan hits June/July :-)

Oh voy! I made a vig deal out of my first roza! Vefore that, my nani used to make me keep the Asar-Maghriv roza instead :)

Well I would always forget that I’m fasting during the day……..many times I would wake up for sehri eat and go back to sleep and then wake up later on and maybe drink a frooto or something until someone would scream that I was fasting and I’d throw it away……..I once remember sitting and chewing gum for the longest time until it struck me that mera roza hai!!!! :P

Just to keep our head up among peers,we struggled a lot during school hours k rouza qaim rahay but as we reached home, got proper lunch and than again fasting period started till aftaar…

I think its all the same with everyone in Childhood. These days Pakistan TV channels are playing an ad. of a milk company showing the same, sleeping before iftar and then made to wakeup with all those delicious items around.
