A bit of googling and I found the following:

“Wearing high heels throws your spine out of alignment and can cause lower back pain. Wearing high heels causes the pelvis to arch forward, causing sway back and extra stress on the lower spine.”

So, wearing shoes with heels over 1 or 2 inches high is not recommendable.

Sidhusaaheb just took the words out of my mouth I don’t like high heels firstly because I believe in walking comfortably without the fear of falling because of such high heels. Secondly, heels pehnay bina hi I get backache from time to time tu heels pehnnay k baad kya hoga

Lols Asma i have seen that arched shape ladies in sares wearing High Heels who r bent forward and walk like they r a living example of the leaning tower of Pisa (this was regarding the truth behind Sidhusaaheb post) as yeah women do cry alot of back pain nd these days i hve even seen girls crying of this thing and all due to the sweetness of stilettos.

I myself m short bt i prefer flip flops over high heels (may be coz my feet doesnt accept them )

I am a TALL girl, and never got to wear any heels. I am so jealous of all those girls who wear beautiful and elegant heels, not 6-7 inch one’s though. I wish i was some inches shorter, so that i would have worn heels too ………. Sigh

Ahh… High heels… think about the other side of the story too. I am 5′10″ and my wife is 5′6″ so she is always looking for Flatties (or whatever you call those shoes without heels or with a max of 1 inch heel). Because if she wears a standard 2,3 inch heel she looks taller than me. Don’t know why girls always look a bit taller than they usually are(or is this me only?).
