Very interesting! I agree that words from other languages are fast creeping into Urdu, thus spoiling its pristine nature.
Two such words that I recall from the text of this interview are dhyaan and gaana, which could very well have been replaced by tavajjo and naghmaa, I suppose.
Sidhusaaheb But why the need to replace?? Dhayaan and gaana are very much urdu. They are the part of urdu we speak commonly. Naghma is a rarely used or lets say more of a literary word. Tawajuh is just another word for dhayaan =))
