61: اے وقت گواہی دے
Posted by mE on Aug 14, 2008We:
Universally you ought to go towards progression when you move in the years of you life. Sadly this is not the case where my beloved Pakistan is concerned. We, the children of Pakistan, are lame. We are liars. We are greedy. We whine that we are powerless yet we leave no road to corruption go empty. We collect loot with both hands. Of all that Pakistan posessed should be in our accounts located abroad. Why? Because Pakistan gave us NOTHING.
We are smart people. We are smart generation. We take and give. We have eyes set on future goals and we don’t do anything without a purpose. Pakistan is crying with tears of redness daily. So be it.
Time:
Were we always like this?
I:
I still remember years back I was in 6thor 7th probably, a few guests were at my place and we were just randomly chatting on Pakistan. One of them jokingly said, Quaid e Azam nay ghalti hii ki, bewaqoof tha bechara. I was shocked and I cried all night thinking how can someone say such a thing. I hear it now on and off. On Similar lines. I still disagree. Its us not them. Its me not him.
I still remember lighting up 50 diyay, decorating our home (in an unsaid competition with others in street
) when Pakistan turned 50. Flickers of happiness … I can still feel those sparks.
And from few years back I get to spend an independence eve with my lil cozins. They were so happy about Pakistan’s birthday that they decorated every possible thing with flags, jhandiyaan. We spotted their mano afterwards panting high. Poor she had a dori of jhandiyaan wound tightly around her neck and belly.
I miss all those times.
Now:
Alhamdolillah, Allah blessed us. Its upto us now to think and act. Lets forget the bigger things … we can start with rectification of our innerself. I can correct myself. You can thy. I and you will make we. For my mother, for your mother, you will do it. You will give it a try, right? Be good … and forget the rest. leave all to Allah Almighty.
Long Live Pakistan.

…and the first step is:
“STOP REPEATING STORIES OF HOW SOME IDIOT SAID SOMETHING IDIOTIC ABOUT PAKISTAN.”
Tell me the good stories.
I don’t know, may be from where I come, everybody loves Pakistan and feels happy being a Pakistani.

Amen! I too used to decorate the house like crazy on Independence day. I hardly bother to hoist a flag now. Happy independence day and I dearly hope it rains! =)

Happy independence day!
The cynicism can not be avoided, somehow, by those like one of your guests. I suppose you realise that the person who made the comment did so out of an immense sense of sadness that had turned into cynicism. I see the same, here in India.
The blame, I agree with you, lies with the people. They wouldn’t give up a chance to blame ‘the system’, but when there comes along an opportunity to be corrupt themselves, they would never give it up either.
The value-system has constantly been on the decline. When parents themselves are corrupt, they can hardly ask their children to be honest. In fact, the children are always a few paces ahead and so the downward spiral continues.

I have a reason to believe the seventh comment is spam. However I cannot find any links. Am I correct in my judgement?
