Oh Khudaya

Posted by mE on Aug 18, 2008

I’m so confused.

If Musharraf resigns … I dont want to see zardari’s newly polished and facialed face everyday in papers and TV. I HATE him =\ he’s available too … eeeek .. what a weird thought. *slaps myself*  I thoroughly hate him.

And then I read somewhere:

Inflation is bringing us true democracy. For the first time in history, luxuries and necessities are selling at the same price.

Ah Ha

I’m sad.

    “Ah Ha I’m sad.” ? :P

I just feel.. politically numb right now. I don’t want to think or talk about politics. But I also don’t want Musharraf to go. According to the DAWN poll, 85% of the participants think Musharraf should stay as President. Considering the audience of DAWN News, we have an idea of the target appeal of Zardari, Sharif and Company.

But I guess it’s useless to say anything now. Toothpaste tube se nikal chuka hai. Mera matlab teer kamaan se nikal chuka hai.

  2. SAWJ Says:

Your worst fears have come true.

Musharraf just resigned. The Golden Era in the history of Pakistan just ended…

    Thank you Musharraf. Pakistan First!

  3. Sidhusaaheb Says:

Although one does feel utterly disappointed at the doings of politicians and does hope that some all-powerful ruler should come and ‘clean-up’ everything, it probably is not the best solution.

Well-entrenched and properly functioning democratic institutions are, in the long-term, I believe, the best way forward, although, admittedly, it does take a lot to ensure that.

BTW, it does not appear at the moment as if either Mr. Zardari or Mr. Sharif are going to be president. A consensus candidate seems most likely to be the next head of state.

    Best wishes! :)

  4. Absar Says:

    Pakistan ka Khuda Hafiz.

  5. Dinky Mind Says:

Oh, I just wish I could throw all my pointed-heel sandals in Zard-aari’s face!

Ab Pakistan sirf duaoun pe chalay ga :( And Pakistani nation isn’t that good ke subah shaam pray karein :( Means… oh God, help us!!!

  6. Dinky Mind Says:

    Moi dareth taggeth vous! :D

  7. Sania Says:

OUCH!! I know what u mean.. Musharraf has resigned and well apparently Pakistan politics is going down in the dumps!

Btw nice blog u have here! :)

  8. Gridlock Says:

It is such a pity for your nation. I for one did not like the gentleman but he was a great ruler for Pakistan, and lot better than the other that your people have selected and are left with.
I give it 6 months to a year and you will be wishing /hoping / praying for a complete change of government which generally requires drastic measures.
The present group of people, in power are more corrupt and greedy than the devil himself. I could not believe that your nation had selected them, well reap what you sowed.

  9. mayG Says:

    sigh.. :|

array i totally luurrrrrrve your blog design :D

  10. Zios Says:

    Second thoughts ? :-P
I hope the country and Musharraf himself will not regret this decision.
Every ray of light may not be the way out but still it tells you that there is light out side once you find the exit tunnel. :-)

  11. Raza Says:

    Hey! Great theme!…

As for Mushy, he had to go sooner or later. And we were always going to end up in the hands of the one of these goons (or their supporters). You can’t have a vote and expect real leadership (thats honest and sincere) to get elected. Thats like almost impossible over here

  12. Hina Says:

Who cares? I’ve stopped caring. Musharraf isn’t an angel either. Not any better than Z or N. Take Lal Masjid and Balochistan for example. They are all alike.

  13. SAWJ Says:

@Hina: You’ve stopped caring about your country?

  14. emran Says:

I felt bad but I love one sentence in his last speach

    Pakistan mera Ishq hai

    :)

    I salute you , Musharaf

  15. mE Says:

Absar Khair, it was a deffered decision. Eventually had to happen. What scares me is the way, the idiots on our head is leading Pakistan towards.

SAWJ Itnay bhi worst nahi thay aur itna bhi golden nahi tha :P

Sidhusaaheb Hmm, like zardari’s not a PM right now but actually he is. It’d be the same thing with president too. His sister’s a strong nominee.

dinKum LOLz dear .. I’m IN this with you :)

Sania Politics were always in dump … sigh. But welcome to the blog :)

Gridlock After every six months we cry for some drastic measures … and then forget all when nothing really happens. I hope things get cleared, somehow.

mayG thanks dear :) Probably will switch back … the widget non-friendliness here is eating me out :/

Zios EEEEEEEEEEEEEEek … no way :P

    Aptly said :)

Raza We can hope and pray :)

Hina Keep the lal masjid incident aside. First we whine over it and ten we cry over it. Its in my to-do discuss list :)

Balochistan situation is frightening. And even what’s happening in Swat. The knits of this cloth are inter-weaved, yes.

Someone should be better, a bit caring even from this lot. One who’s not really good in politics yet … but someone should be.

SAWJ I dont think she means that. Balochistan and NWFP issues are making Pakistan bleed.

Emran Ah ha … it should be of us all. And we should do something for this ishq too :)

  16. Jang Says:

Mussharaf was far better then Zarderi.

  17. SAWJ Says:

It was truly a Golden Era and his resignation was very bad for Pakistan.

The situation in Balochistan was twisted and presented to us by our out-of-control ‘feel-free-to-rent’ media. They made Akbar Bugti look like a hero when in fact he was a national traitor and talked about breaking Pakistan. These same people never supported the Pak Army’s operations in Swat and FATA to eliminate insurgents and rebels, only because they hated Musharraf and still do. Now that the PPP govt. is here, it has all become a “need” for the government while Musharraf was “doing it to kill Pakistani people”, eh?

If thousands died in Lal Masjid, where are their bodies? A reason that is put forward is that they were phosphorically cremated. But if they were, when were they moved to the cremation site and why didn’t the media vultures catch a glimpse of the carriages (ambulances, helicopters, etc)? If they were cremated inside the Lal Masjid compound, the fumes would have been toxic and enough to kill the people in the suburbs easily.

You see, the hate people have for Musharraf is directly related to the biased attitude of the media towards him. Our nation drinks up anything that is given to them, even if it is poison. Did you notice how every media man, news anchor, reporter changed colors when he resigned?

Two years from now, God forbid, you will understand what I mean by the Golden Era. :(

  18. Nikki Says:

Ahhhhhhhh wat a choice u would be for Zardari kia yaar Asma u would be the 3rd most richest man’s wife in Pakistan :P soch lo kia luxuries hogi tmhari :P
The thing m waiting for is the Big War coming up between Nawazo and Zaroo :P and m sure it will be now or sometime soon ;)

  19. SAWJ Says:

@Nikki: That would be second-richest at $1.8 Billion. Tagging at no. 4 is Mr. Nawaz Sharif, with baby brother Shahbaz, at $1.4 Billion.

  20. Dinky Mind Says:

@ SAWJ: Why don’t you become a reporter? :P You’ve got vast knowledge MashAllah se.

I’ve got the list of Pakistan’s richest people, but I never tried to memorise how much Zardari owns and how much Shareef Co. owns :D But yes, I do remember one thing, Mansha is No.1, followed by Zardari :)

  21. SAWJ Says:

@DM: Nahin yaar, I’m more interested in becoming a Software Architect, about which I have absolutely no knowledge! :D

  22. Nikki Says:

@SAWJ: Waaaah jo banna hai uska he idea nahe hai waaah waaaah…Ur going to be a Proud Pakistani :P

  23. Mahwash Says:

    Nice quote.

Had a substantially bad day after hearing about Zardari too.

  24. SAWJ Says:

  25. Tazeen Says:

this was the best line i read. truly hilarious and sad at the same time

  26. UTP Says:

That is given…it will happen…Zardari for President..GO Zee GO!!!

  27. An ILLuS|On Says:

“Inflation is bringing us true democracy. For the first time in history, luxuries and necessities are selling at the same price.”

    spot on!
lets see how things turn out to be as PPP’s party members are supporting monsieur Zardari for the presidency..we’d be doomed people..can’t we do anything about it? anyone? anywhere?

  28. lizzie Says:

  30. SAWJ Says:

Zardari just read your complain about luxuries and necessities being the same price so now we have a 15-50% tax on luxury items. Thanks a lot! :x

  31. mE Says:
