Every Thing’s Well That Ends Well!
Assalam o alaykum w.w.!
Well, 22nd march was a tough day …. But it ended very well. We had our farewell party today. That was the first party we attended at this new campus of our university. Please stop guessing in which semester I got the farewell party
Of our four year bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, our first two years were spend in OPF, that is considered to be quite a liberal college in Islamabad. Well, liberal and expensive … Islamic university had it’s women campus there for years … then in 5th semester we were shifted to our newly built campus of the university, whose building is really impressive. After spending 2 years in a beautiful, full of flowers and greenery and an overall free environment to do seminars, functions, parties … we became quite accustomed to that idea. But then coming to this new campus meant a complete change … the faculties of usuludin and shariah considering us, computer sciences and business administration department girls[who were shifted from OPF] as, literally, kafirs. They had an overall impression that the girls from this faculty are very mod scod sort of people. Music is totally banned in parties in our campus, and in opf there was no party without any music … though we had seen our seniors and learnt somewhat from them doing skits and real funny and very professional dramas …. Anywayz …. Story goes on like this.
For our seniors we arranged a farewell, in this new campus, and at that time we were not aware of all restrictions, so we had a mixed sort of program, skits with music, and teacher’s parodies with meaningful songs in background. All things were arranged, me the chief organizer being the CR, as usual. But then on that very same day, I and my friend were coming from university back to our homes to pick some things left, that we had a severe accident with a truck. That’s a whole long story, stay tuned for it. Despite all the arrangements to its fullest, the party had to be canceled, as accident was a bit severe one. So, that is how our seniors just didn’t have a party, then in next semester we tried again, but on those dates something [I don’t remember exactly what] happened so at last postponed meant cancellation for our poor seniors.
Now, in our final semester, we were anxious to have one, as teachers were not allowed to come to parties outside university, [not strictly obeyed though but still …] so our juniors were bit in off mood but somehow they managed a party here, which after many discussions and postponements was at last confirmed for 22nd march. Though, it was a bit small scale party … I mean the duration of program was bit small, but that was a god one. Our class gave titles to teachers … which we were discussing for last 2 weeks, though. We had made chart paper’s maple leaves with names and titles of teachers. Today I slept early in the morning at 5 as we had our project phase’s deadline as well, so waking up at 7. Went to university, attended a class, had a meeting with the dean [our supervisor], he’s such a nice man. Then me and my friend applied mehndi to our hands … after washing it in an hour’s time, other friends [class-fellows] came, and me and 2 of my friends started making titles, by applying embossed paints and marker effects to the cards. The titles were looking very beautiful, I mean the cards
what I forgot was that I’m the cr and I’m the one who had to do some intro and farewell speech … decided not to be formal … made up some lines … some straight ones, some funny and yet some taunting ones
and whoa! I was ready
Then I came back at around 1:30 to my house, then had some work to be done here and there. At around 4:30 got ready, and at 5:15 we were at university. Feeling really stupid wearing saaris … and make-ups, girls around were passing us some looks
but who cares?
The party started at 6, was a good function overall, when mike was handed over to me, I thought what it would be like, but the things went greatly, I did what I usually do … confidence ki mar marna
and bohat saari unlimited batein … then started giving titles that was a good experience too. Really enjoyed it. Then teachers went off for dinner, and we were still waiting for our titles that never came … we were like god! Give me a break … we ourselves are very efficient in all such matters, as all our faculty says
but good part I was awarded lady of the evening bouquet … I was like hain … me … let me come
they gave me real beautiful rd roses bouquet. And then the function was ended off with some mixed songs we all sang together … and tarah ..! That was a pretty hectic but a memorable day. Really enjoyed it.
So … that is a pretty long post … don’t bother to read it all … I just wanted to share the experience with myself
[900 words god!]
Adieu!
